"Romeo and His Butterfly Lover" Thoughts [2]

What an eventful week. It was filled with action, laughter, sorrow, and romance. I'm gonna share some memorable scenes and leave thoughts on Mo and Aimee to the end. A warning: it's gonna be a bit messy since I'm using their real names and character names.

Episode 6: Let me first address the face paint. It was offensive. Please prevent this from happening in the future. We finally get Mo's action scene and he looked so cool. The outfit made it even better. It was one of the scenes I was anticipating after seeing the promos.

Episode 7: Finally, Leung Shan Bak and Chuk Ying Toi's love story. I already knew Ying Toi's backstory, but it was still impactful. She was such a girly girl, that I didn't know, so it must've been so difficult for her.

Episode 8: Shan Bak and Copy (King Lam) cracked me up. Actually their interactions are always great. I didn't know I needed this duo. When Ying Toi sent Romeo and Juliet away, I cried a little.

Episode 9: What happened to Man Choi (Tsui Wing) had me in tears. Aimee handled the scene really well. I don't know if it's just me, but I truly felt his love for Ying Toi and felt so bad for him. Hope he and Aimee can do another drama together.

Episode 9 & 10 (Mo & Aimee): Yesss!! They had so many scenes together and the chemistry was overflowing. When Ying Toi said to Shan Bak that he's ugly, she also said it in another episode, I wonder how Aimee felt saying the lines lol. I really love all of her expressions and gestures. In the scene where Miss Tse (Linna Huynh) gives Shan Bak the heart shaped cup, Ying Toi's glare and finger movements emphasizing her annoyance, made me cackle😂😂. The dance scene is one of my most anticipated scenes!! It was so silly and cute!! Mo looked especially good in the lighting😍 hehe. The way he shimmied off the dance floor💃 and Ying Toi's expression when she noticed he was gone😕. It was perfect. In the restaurant when Ying Toi slapped the table and hollered for the manager rofl. Did y'all notice when Miss Tse woke up from her drunken state, Mo kinda stole some glances at Aimee? No? Was it part of the script? Ok, maybe I'm just overthinking lol. The shadow hand holding scene is another one of my most anticipated scenes!!! Gosh, their height difference is so cute. And finally the kiss on the roof. The way she caressed his face and smiled before kissing him. So freakin' romantic!!!💕💕💕

Mo and Helen Ma said in interviews that Aimee got really thin. I don't know why it took me so long, but I finally noticed in the last few episodes. She really lost her cheeks. It probably broke Mo's heart seeing her like that. I'm so glad she gained back some weight now.

Also... WHERE ARE THE BEHIND THE SCENES AND BLOOPERS??!! 😠😠😩😩😭😭 I guess they don't want to give us diabetes. It's for real so weird they're not sharing it.

I watched the Family Feud episode featuring Aimee. She did an amazing job. She and Johnson Lee have a fun bro relationship. He likes to tease them a lot. I'm just a bit disappointed Mo wasn't there. Aimee said she's filming Super Trio on Halloween. I bet Mo won't be able to take part😭. Like come on, game shows together was one of the things I was most excited for and it's not happening at all. I'm raging inside lol.

When Aimee was interviewed at today's promotion event, she said producer Joe and scriptwriter Mr. Mo asked her what role she wants to do next. I'm guessing that means they want to work with her again. It's so nice that she gained their trust. I'm proud of her.

"Romeo and His Butterfly Lover" Thoughts [1]

When the drama premiered, I went straight to Weibo and a HK forum to check what people were saying since I couldn't watch it yet. I was shocked that so many people, including Mo's fans, were bashing it. I thought: oh no is it that bad?? That night I watched and really enjoyed it. The fact that it's a fictitious world makes it unpredictable and makes me want to watch on. I've mentioned a million times that I love love love the set designs, costumes, and styling. So much thought and effort went into building this world and all I see everyday is people complaining that they don't get it😓😵. It's about two families in two cities who hate each other and their kids fall in love; the leader of one family is pretending to be a dude and she rekindles the romance with her first love; people in both cities resolve problems with guns. It's just that simple😂. Some of Mo's fans don't like the role he's playing. When I first found out that he was gonna be silly, I was worried as well, but after watching, he's actually not that bad😅. Trust that I will say if he's annoying me hahahahaha😝! There was that one scene he did his signature high note and I went: no sir, that better be the only time. I want to say to those who don't like it, but haven't given up, to continue cos you might just get it later.

On to the cast and pairings. Let's all first praise the producer for casting a perfect balance of old timers and newcomers. For week one, I want to give props to the women who play the prostitutes, especially Fanny Lee who plays Rose. Give the woman bigger roles! They made me laugh too many times. This is Mo and Kalok's second time working together, but this time they have more screentime together and I can definitely feel the chemistry. I loved the scene of them rowing the kayak with the dolphins🚣🐬🐬🐬🐬🐬🐬🐬🐬rofl. And finally Mo and Aimee, they were professional and I didn't detect a hint of love between them😂😂. I can't wait to see their interactions after they discover each other's identity. Aimee just needs to brush up on her Canto and she'll naturally flow better. Again I think her facial expressions were on point. Lastly, I love that each couple gets their own song. I can't wait to hear the full version of "Leung Shan Bak's Waltz".

There's a promotion event today (22nd, HK time). I wonder if Mo can make another surprise appearance.

Mo looks so good in the new promo. I do like him a lot with long hair lol.
The poster is freakin' beautiful!!
I hope we get tons of behind the scenes footage. Like more than usual please!!

Updated 10.05.23:
I'll say it again, the costumes and sets look so refreshing.
Aimee sounds a bit stiff. Maybe because she's still not comfortable speaking Canto.

Updated 10.11.23:
I'm waiting for TVB to upload on to their official YouTube pages before posting the links. Why are they so slow??? If they need help just send all the videos to me and give me the YouTube login lol.
The action scenes look good. The training really paid off.

Updated 10.14.23:
Finally added links to new promos.
Also added Mo's character introduction. I wasn't expecting his character to be silly. I don't know how I feel about it...

Updated 10.20.23:
I thought the warehouse scene was later in the drama since it was the last filmed. Can't believe it was one of their first interactions.
Can we get some bloopers please!!

I'm really enjoying these interviews with Aimee; hearing what she has to say about work and home life. We get enough of Mo's perspective.
Finished episodes 2 and 3. The shooting competition scene was hilarious!!! I for real rewatched it so many times. Mo and Aimee's first interaction is in episode 3 and I really don't get that lovey dovey vibe. They did well holding back lol.

I watched the first episode and was so impressed. I love the idea of alternate universe. The sets I can just stare at all day. Aimee surprised me 'cause her facial expressions were good. Mo is silly, but more vulgar. He kinda reminds me of Sit Shui in Love Bond, who I like. Hope it continues to be good (for me) lol.

In the E-News interview, they're talking about the rumored list of HK actors and singers joining a Mainland sing and dance variety show. Please don't ever do anything like it lol.

Give us more of this please!
It's so fascinating seeing how Horace Ma designed everything. We need a segment just for that and also for the styling and wardrobes.
The part about kiss scenes rofl.
