For the past couple of days, there have been people on discussion boards and social media saying that Mo will take part in Producer Joe Chan's upcoming drama Sutra of Forty-two Chapters. It is set in modern time and a suspense comedy. It is said that Katy Kung, Zoie Tam, Karman Kong, and Kalok Chow will also take part. HK01 interviewed Producer Joe and he acknowledged that such a drama is in the works. When asked about the cast, he said he can't disclose too much. And the drama is related to The Deer and the Cauldron/The Duke of Mount Deer. HK01 also interviewed Kalok and he said he didn't receive an official notice.
My first thought: Oh no, why is Mo going to be in another comedy?! There's a high chance he'll be in this because Producer Joe likes casting him. Producer Joe needs to forbid him from doing his usual comedic antics. No more high tones and English. Please, I beg! After reading the synopsis, I'm like this is way too over the top. I can't imagine what it'll be like. If Mo plays the lead then he's probably the professor. What will be his style?? It may be like My Lover from the Planet Meow. Oh gosh *shudder* lol.
I did some research and it looks like Katy, Karman, and Kandy Wong (Tong Mui) are in this. Well Kandy definitely since she mentioned Producer Joe in her interview. But they're basically doing the same training - fighting and suspend by wire. Lam King Ching might also be in this because he was in Katy's Instagram story of her training. Will Mo also be fighting?? But the weird thing is why are there so many great fighters? In the synopsis, they're just butcher shop owner/Master's student, professor, psychologist, and mathematician. Uhh, again this drama is way too over the top lol. I wonder if Katy is the female lead. That would mean that Mo and Katy are paired up, right? I always saw them as bro-sis so gonna have to get used to the idea. I also never watched The Deer and the Cauldron/The Duke of Mount Deer so I just read the Wiki page hahaha. Hope that's good enough.
